The hamster is a severely threatened species, which has lost a lot of habitat in recent decades. The biggest threat to the field hamster is the intensification of agriculture. To my surprise these small hamsters live on a cemetery of a large city. This place offers them unexpected retreats, far from the hectic urbanisations. Here between the graves and trees they find food sources and suitable living conditions!
